Re: [HOE] [DL][HoE][LC] Call out...

Lots of lurking going on :)

I had a long running Deadlands game. Six or eight players with characters with 5 grit. The campaign sorta wrapped with the posse experiencing a Shadowrun adventure in the Hunting Grounds... their experience on a trip to HOE from WW.

My turn behind the GM screen was up, and before I got back Savage Worlds came out. I really really like SW rules, and multiple reads thru the Reloaded rules makes me happy about the translation.

What I want now is HOE:Reloaded. I'll have my group recreate their characters from WW as heroic or legendary Reloaded characters to play in HOE, while simultaneously running new PCs thru The Flood. I'll be able to have artifacts of the PCs in The Flood left behind to be found centuries later by the HOE posse. Hints about how maybe them jumping the timestream did something to history :)

I'm still here. I like Savage Worlds even tough I don't know if I like it for Deadlands. As Adam says, I'm concerned with things being lsot in translation, such as the switch from Mad Scientists as careful artificiers to more 'gadgeteers.'

It's not a bad system though. I had fun running Necessary Evil for the gang and it worked well, although the Heavy Armor concept was a bit wonky in that variant. (I don't think it would be a problem in most settings where Heavy Armor is reserved for vehicles or rare critters and such.)

Another one still here! We play something using the Deadlands rules at least once per month. We have a long running HoE campaign, although its on pause at the moment. Right now we're running a swashbuckling type game using the Deadlands rules. Its fun watching the crew play around with flintlocks and swords!

I'm still around and read when things get posted, although it has been pretty dead for awhile. I haven't had a chance to play Deadlands in over a year and a half, due to getting married and moving from Texas to Virginia. I've mostly been playing D&D 4E since I moved, as it's easier to find players, and I want to wait until I can get a solid group together for a long term Deadlands game (hopefully running through all three settings).
In the interest of starting some dialogue, how is everyone else doing on finding games to play? Also, I'm curious what people think of the Savage Worlds system for Deadlands. I've played and run other games using Savage Worlds, and it seems to me that a lot of the flavor of the game would be lost in translation, although it would streamline some things. Adam
