I second this suggestion (persistent comments).  How
hard would it be to implement?

I consider 4-player games largely social endeavors!

PS I never did figure out if the ratings system
adapted itself to multiplayer games.  In general among
equally ranked players the winner should go up as much
as the sum of the amount by which the losers go down,
otherwise with one winner and three losers, the net
ratings among a group of players who play each other
regularly and who win about 1/4 of their games will
steadily decline.  I haven't looked carefully at the
code, if this is already how it works let me know.
