Thanks for your efforts Ted Rathkopf and Bob Lefleur. I guess there are two
different files. One is a compressed binary file format in DAWG format and the
other is a text file of the words? I wish to simply check if a word is in the
dictionary. Now that I have Scramble6.words in the pbmserv/etc directory I
guess I'll just use that. I'm still not sure how I access that, but if it is a
text file sorted alphabetically then I could just write a simple binary search
to search the list? Thanks for your help so far.
