Thanks Randall. I was waiting for someone to point out at Nelson did *not* 
in fact engage Villeneuve with a submarine, two cruisers, a destroyer and 
an aircraft carrier, but your observation is much better :)

Players take turns firing shots in an effort to sink their opponents' 
ships. The last remaining player with an undamaged piece of ship wins the 
game. It's all in the rules.
