The mammal you wanted to know the name of is a mongoose.  In India they are
deadly enemies to the cobra.  Some of them were imported to Hawaii where they
are now as big problem.  Some ninny thought that the mongoose would keep the
rodent population  down but the animal prefers chickens and such.  Kauai is
the only island the mongoose is not on therefore the wild chickens reign on
the island.
