[PyrNet-L] Thunderstorms

We had the same two nights of thunderstorms that Ann Wetherilt had last
weekend. The wind was truly frightening and we lost power for 12 hours.
Although Travis did not appear to notice that anything unusual was going
on, he somehow miraculously arrived in the middle of our bed during the
night - something he never has been able to do on his own before! The bed
is a very high fourposter and normally his hind end has to be hoisted onto
it once he puts his front quarters there. However, the visiting Cuvac Anya
spent the night pacing from basement to attic looking for sanctuary. We
find with her, as with our first dog, Cyril (also a Cuvac), that leaving
open a closet or basement door for them to retreat to seems to work. In
Cyril's case, he appropriated the walk in shower in times of stress. Not
only was it windowless and snug, like a den, but the ceramic tile was very
cool. I can hardly count the number of visitors who got up in the night to
use the bathroom only to discover a muzzle and two eyes watching them from
behind the shower curtain. Ann, why don't you try leaving a small closet
open for Ivy Rose and see if she can take some comfort in it.
