Re: Fwd: [PyrNet-L] Re: Chat:Behavior, pyr that bit

Sarah wants me to thank everyone for all their inputs
and she is open to more comments. It has helped a
lot.

In response to some of your inquiries she would like
me to add the following information:

1. It was in her thought that the inpact might have
been a bit harder than the dog intended due to the
slippery floor, but he obviously intended to bite
none the less.

2. The Pyr did bark, howl etc when they banged on
the windows and as they rang the bell, and as he
charged her when she put her face in the door. The
girl just didn't think he would bite and thought he
was a just a big pretty white dog (her words).

3. The dog came out of rescue a year ago and the
early history on the dog is that it came from a very
active family with lots of kids and teens coming and
going. Possibility of past teasing and abuse but
they deny that. As with most rescues you never know
the full story.

4. No biting on human's to date. He has shown some
aggression towards other male dogs. Plays with cats.
Has a bit of 'prey drive' (my interpretation) as he
chases balls and retrieves them some.

5. What she meant by pursue was that he could have
done more damage if he wanted to. It wasn't any
adult intervention that stopped him. It was over by
the time she could get out of the bathroom.

6. She has, at your recommendation, contacted a prof
trainer for eval but they are away on vacation. The
vet she has raises pyrs and said his opinion is that
he is a very loving and gentle dog to date.

Hope all of this helps. She has been obedience
training on her own and the dog is very responsive
when she is around.

Thanks again!!
