Science has known the exsistance of Magnetic fields for some 
time...think about the Arura Borialis (sp?)
 Phermones are how and why dogs can tell sickness, mental, and 
reproductive state in each other too...it is also why women in the same 
house will menstrate at the same time.. :)
It is very interesting, although so little is ever said about it and I 
have yet to figure out why.

So that explains what
