Re: [PyrNet-L] Health:Parvovirus

I'll be real honest. If a dog that old has been given the proper series
of shots, and still contracts a virus it is being inocculated against,
then more then likely the pup simply had a weak immune system. You need
to find out where they took the pup when they got it? What dogs they
exposed it to ect.
While I can understand theri grief...unless you didn't innoculate the
pup, I can't see how it is your fault.
I would offer them another pup and if they don't want it then return
their money. HOWEVER..thy have parvo living in their house now, and it
will be there until properly disifected, so sending another pup may
result in the same thing.
Parvo can live in the ground for up to a year...and this year with the
mild winter it is rampid. More then likely the Parvo was picked up at
home or even carried on their clothes from contact with strange dogs or
walking through an area or another dog. The incubation period is about
14 days-21 days (I think).
Parvo can be carried on the clothes, shoes, hair, skin of a human, and
on a dog, it can be carried on the feet, hair, or where ever they come
into contact with the ground.
