It sounds to me that the dog might be showing symptoms of some type of 
rage.  I would serously conslut an animal behavorist on this.  My own 
dog would have "fits" when people came to the house.  It would begin as 
barking then develop into fits of "rage".  this would also happen when I 
gave him a bath as well.
Please seek *professional* advice, not that of a trainer, but a 
*specialist*.
