[PyrNet-L] Pyrs playing in water
Once again Albert is the exception to the rule! A Pyr that loves the water,
as long as it's not bath water, at least! While he didn't go near the water
to romp in it until 11 mos. old he immediately LOVED it and we take him often
now! I kinda pulled him in first time as he was leary of it and waves. Then he
ran and jumped in the water! It helped that it was over 100 degrees out then!!
He loved to attack the waves, too: run at them and pogo-pounce on them and
even bite them!! Macho-macho guy!! (NOT!! He just pretends sometimes!) We
always take our long 20 foot cable lead and now have another one 15 feet long
that we can add onto that one, or use alone, so he can have a ball and still
be under control. (We judge which to use by whether there are others at the
beach or not.)
He also loves to dig at sandy beaches, too! He goes crazy - in a digging
frenzy! At home it's pretty rocky soil and harder digging, so he's in 7th
heaven digging at the beach in sand! Sometimes he goes around in a big circle
throwing the sand between his back legs and then scooting a little and keeps
doing that in a circle. Funny to watch him! His finished work is often
something that would fascinate Scully & Muldaur!! (No! I don't let him dig in
clam beds, though)
