Re: [PyrNet-L] Pyrs with Aggression problems
Hi,
Our pyr, Angel, has not develped any aggresive tendencies so far. But, then
again, we treat her with a lot of love. I think it does help that she has our
golden ret. who is 6 months younger than her to play with. They have a mock
battle in the family room all the time and one would think its a major dog
fight with all the growling, snarling, and teeth showing. But, they love to
tussle and have fun.
I, too, would never corner a dog to punish them. I would think that is asking
for problems. One thing that we practice is to constantly make both dogs be
obedient to commands. Everytime they go outside or get a cookie, they are
told to sit first. They need to know that we are the alpha members of their
pack. I think they eventually learn. We also constantly take bones or toys
from their mouthes and then praise them for being so good. I think its
something that needs to be practiced continually. But, then again, I also
play with them too.
