 Dear Pam,
What a very very sad letter to have to write. Our feelings and understanding reach out to you from Startrax. Sometimes this happens to all of the really dedicated rescuers. I feel that there should a therapy/support group for rescue people. You take all the sad dogs into your personal care and when they become re- homeable you have to part with them. You give everything you have both emotionally and financially and in most cases you only receive grief in return. We all go through times like this when we want to give it all up, but just sometimes something turns up and everything seems to brighten up again. At this moment in spite of both pre and post home checks we are having a 20% return rate, which is something we have never had in all our rescuing years. These returns are not recent adoptions but in some cases dogs that were rehomed six years ago! Whilst we have these dogs we cannot take on new clients. You must know by now that you just cannot take on all the troubles of the world, but we all just try don't we! Just take a long rest Pam and consider all the successful rescues that you have achieved, and then perhaps in a few months time you will be able to come back and carry on in perhaps a smaller way,.........just to keep your hand in. (:-))))
