   Sounds like you did not have much choice then.  It is hard to speak for
everyone everywhere.  That's why I put the "Different strokes for different
folks" line in my post.  (The post where I said I would never shear Albert in
the summer.) I do like people to hear all sides of things though. Everyone has
to decide for themselves what is right for them. Did feel it important for
people to hear about other less drastic methods though, too, like the six-inch
belly shearing and to know if they shear that they should use sunscreen on
them when they are in the sun. I really feel for you with the burrs. They can
be nasty!  We have blackberry vines is about all here to hassle with and they
are not bad. Good luck!!
