[PyrNet-L] HEALTH, CHAT: Clondike has a good day

Clondike is an 11 year-old (plus 4 months!) Pyr bitch who has been
undergoing chemo therapy for lymphoma since June of 1998. She had
sustained a 4 month remission at the end of 1998, but the cancer returned
in December and she is now on a new protocol which has returned her to
full remission. In spite of getting rather sick on some of the chemicals,
she retains her enthusiasm for life.

On Friday's visit to the oncologist we were hoping her white count had
returned to a high enough reading to resume chemo. Not only was her white
count fine, but the oncologist said her nodes are down so far she wants to
wait another 10 days to resume chemo--the thought is that spacing out the
treatments will lessen the reactions.

Tonight Clondike tossed her ChewBear around for the first time in a few
weeks and she is eating everything in sight, rapidly regaining weight lost
from the last drug reaction.

So for the moment the roller coaster is on the uphill part of the course.
Thanks for all the interest and support we have received from Cyberland.
It really helps.

I'll keep you posted.

David (for Nancy and Clondike)
