Hi Maryellen -

Have you attended many dog shows? At a dog show you can not only find other
dogs, but the breeders and/or handlers can evaluate your girl and give you
pointers on what faults that you need a male to complement. It takes a real
experienced and educated breeder to pinpoint the faults of both the female
and the male to be positive that both dogs do not have similar faults.
Someone can hand you a breed standard (do you have the GPCA's illustrated
standard?) but in order to really understand it, experienced people in the
breed can show you what the different faults actually are. Have you shown
your female? Is the breeder of your female available for questions you
might have and a history of the pedigree?
