[PyrNet-L] HEALTH: Kennel Cough

Our club had a dog come into Rescue w/Kennel cough. I've been trying
to find out how long she will be contagious. She's been on Baytril for
about 48 hours. Weighed all of 46lbs. Also has another respiratory
infection. Had a temp. of 105. She is much better now. Temp. is almost
normal and she's eating and drinking. As she is in a foster home, I'm
hoping to offer some insight on how long she needs to be isolated from
the rest of the dog population. The main problem is the fact that she
managed to escape the isolation kennel this morning, (she's definitely
feeling better!) and was wandering in the front yard when the people
returned home. Now they are afraid to take any of their dogs out front
as they have some that are old with immune deficiencies. I've checked
some Veterinary sites on the Internet but nothing tells me how long
the contagious stage of this disease lasts. Does anyone out there
know?
