[PyrNet-L] 1st annual Poodle Parade-Taos

The 1st annual Poodle Parade was held in Taos today. A lovely cool
weekend, the town filled with tourists attending the opening of the
Fall Arts Festival. Poodle's of all shapes, sizes and color were in
attendance. A few were outfitted in costumes, one in a white lace
cap and dress. Several with flower wreaths around their necks. Most
were glorious au natural. Some did have to be carried towards the end
of the 20 minute parade through the central plaza in Taos and back to
Kit Carson Park. Other breeds represented were a White German
Shepherd, a Rottweiler, numerous mixed breeds and one goat.
Representing Pyrnet-l were Kazak and Rita Stroh Miller, glorious
after being bathed and fluffed dry. Their owner had solicited all
the Pyr lists on advice on costumes for these two representatives of
the breed, but after viewing them clean and brushed out decided they
could not be outdone in any costume. They attended the function
wearing their pyr coats with those glorious plumes wafting in the
breeze. They received many ooos and ahhs and 'look at those'. As is
expected Kazak and Rita were pyrfect representatives of the breed,
well behaved, calm and a bit disdainful of all the fuss. They did say
the goat smelled pretty bad, but had no other comments on the
festivities.
