I have always heard this also. The only time one of mine would not
eat was as I mentioned in my previous post, Mishka just revolted
about the type of puppy food I was giving her.< oh well, there was
Rita when she came into rescue, she was so stressed she did not eat
for a week or so>. When rescues come in they may not eat for a period
of time, unless they have been so starved that they have some
catching up to do. Guess I'm lucky, as all of mine really enjoy chow
time.

I have discovered a special treat that all of mine just love for
breakfast. Mix yogurt and quick oats and refrigerate for 12 hours.
Before feeding, add hot water and soak mixture for a few minutes. I
measure about a cup of the mixture before adding the hot water.
Those snouts don't leave the bowls until they are licked clean. I
give them this several times a week. I don't feed a barf diet, but
do add some fresh food, veggies, yogurt, cottage cheese, canned
salmon, canned pure pumpkin to the dog food I use. Sometimes they
just get cooked chicken and rice, depending on if I feel like cooking
up a big batch. Mine are all doing well on the diet I feed.

Feeding is such a personal issue, but I always caution to watch those
preservatives. I have also heard of miracle cures with the BARF
diet.
