Robyn, absolutely!  I give your Mom a lot of credit too.  I was annoyed
with mine giving up her little Shih-Tzu, Molli, and her cat Tucker ( they
did get good homes...but! ), and now she cries over not having them, and
how lonely it is for her.  Plus she has gone down hill as I mentioned. 
More power to your Mom, in the long run it will do her more good.

By the way, there are some of those squirt guns that do 50 ' and more. 
My two kids have the 30' shots.  I know, my back side has been ambushed
more than once! :-)   Cindy.
