Wild dogs also have a lot of other "crap" to deal with -- one thing is urban 
development that introduces vehicles and modern "diseases" that the wild dog 
hadn't encountered before.  Also, just like wild horses, they won't live as 
long, because man isn't there to look out for them and make sure they live a 
long life.
