Here is a website on dog foods that may be useful:

the page gives a guide to what the ingredients are in different brands of
dog food.

Here are a few suggestions though for choosing a food:

Choose one with natural preservatives (no BHA, BHT, Ethoxyquin etc)
Make sure it has no colours added
Choose one with high quality ingredients
