Largely yes. Historically it is hard to tell. They say that several
breeds were much larger in the past. I don't know if that is really
true, seems hard to imagine. Supposedly nature wants it's own to return
to some optimum size, so it is hard to keep sizes up. But I have seen
dogs come in as much as three inches smaller than minimums, and one I
know made it to Westminster ( not in this breed ) which is why I think
more checking should be done at those levels. Cindy.
