Re: [PyrNet-L] SAS. threat to Pyrs??

There's a list of ACVIM Board Certified Cardiologists by state at:
http://www.vetheart.com/bystate.htm

And because this is not the only thing that has come up in pyrs,
there's a list of ACVO (Veterinary Opthalmalogists) Clinics at
http://www.vet.purdue.edu/~yshen/clinic.html

There's a lot of work going on across breeds in finding genetic
markers for a lot of these diseases and as these markers are found
there'll be a way to identify carriers and breed them for desirable
traits. Genetics tests will be able to detect which of the offspring
are free of the defect, so you can eliminate a defect. Until then,
well, as was said on another list and it's a quote from some
literature I have on genetics "none of us has anything to gain by
witch hunting, blame fixing or finger pointing." If you're not open
about what's there your buyers and the breed will suffer as a whole.
