[PyrNet-L] Roaming night Pyr!(and Treasures!!)
Guess I'll just have to staple the ends on the duvet for now Marci til that
Hamish goes! Did a bit of Pyr cleaning today, not the Pyrs here but the Pyr
statues. My Chow friend painted my cabinet the other day. Very hot so me
and Pyr friend Elsie Wood had to sit in the shade and point out the bits she
had missed. (Boy that was tiring for us both). After seeing the lovely
painted cabinet I decided to wash all the statues!! Would have been quicker
to have bathed all the dogs!! I had to use an old toothbrush to get into
those grimy bits but they look pretty good now. Made the mistake of leaving
the cabinet door open and guess who I found trying to get his little furry
bottom in there leaving scratches on the new paintwork??
Quite sentimental emptying that cabinet out the other day and remembering
who had sent me some of the Pyr things over the years. The wee Pyr
statue(bisque) I found in Holland 5 years ago in an antique shop looking
remarkably like the small statues in Mary Crane's book but unpainted, the
Pyr and puppy from my twin sister in the Shetlands, the statue of old Harley
here made from a photo organised by Elsie, the things from Ranee Van Eck in
Australia, Ryoko in Japan, Joyce in England, friends in Wales, USA, Canada,
wee treasures brought back from UK by Ronda, Pyr things made by Lavina's
Mum, quite an international collection. Most precious of all is the
tablemat of Simba made by one of Uncle's patients so many years ago and
always brought out for dinner when I went home to Christchurch in later
years with a couple of Pyrs in tow. Never brought out for anyone else and
now it's here. They say "give her anything to do with Pyrs and it goes in
the cabinet!". Quite right too and safely out the way of puppies and night
roaming Pyrs too!!
