[PyrNet-L] Happy Holidays :-)

Well, I have just returned from a 5 day 'sun and show' camping holiday with
my dogs in the beautiful beachside town of Bermagui :-)

Did I say sun? :-/ Well, it was warm and sunny for the first day and a
half. We all had a wonderful time lazing around and playing on the beach.
It was Milou's first experience with 'the ocean' and she loved it!! Coudn't
keep her out of the water! LOL! Of course this made for lots of fun getting
her ready for the shows...:-/

From then on the wind blew, the rain fell and we froze (of course I had left
all my warm clothes at home) :-(. It did stop raining during the day for
the shows though, so in a way it was good - cool enough for coated dogs
(although Milou doesn't have much to speak of at the moment :-/).

The shows were fun and very relaxed - they are a bit of an annual
institution. The town even puts up a sign over the road as you enter the
town "Bermagui welcomes the Doggies" :-) We kind of take over! LOL! We
book the campsites the year ahead so we get the ones we like and camp in a
big group - we have Pyrs, Dalmatians, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Viszla's,
Keeshonds and Portuguese Water Dogs in our camping group. Makes for lots of
fun and we kind of get into the party spirit for the week (all wins are
'celebrated' and there seemed to be a lot of them this trip! ;-b)

Milou was the only Pyr entered (as usual :-/) and attracted a lot of
attention. I can't count the number of times I had the following exchange:
"What kind of dog is that?" ...'A Pyrenean Mountian Dog'..."A What?" ....'A
Pyrenean Mountain Dog'. <sigh> I felt like an echo! LOL! Milou did have
her photo taken for the local paper though :-) We also managed a few more
points towards her title :-). Had a good win with my Dally too - Bitch
Challenge and RUBOB in strong company.

Am back home now, the dogs are all asleep and I am enjoying sleeping in my
own bed again! LOL! Camping is fun, but boy it is great to be home! :-)
