Right, forgot to mention the water. Bees do drink. Problem is with water such as a pool, they drown. Best too have pan,buckets, etc with sticks floating on the surface as life rafts. A good bee keeper should be able to avoid swarming. Now, as for you in Texas, you've got those Africanized Bees, or better known in the entomological world as "bees with attitude." I'd be a mite wary of any swarm in Texas.
