    I got a call from a guy-- actually he is some kind of police officer who 
has a dog he got from a rescue group and now needs to "rehome" the dog.   Max 
is a 4 yr old neutered male Pyrenees Shepherd mix.  He is apricot collared 
with longer hair than a shepherd and a tail that curls.  He has a black mask. 
  He has only been a family pet and an outdoor pet.   He will adjust to other 
dogs but is aggressive when approached by other dogs.   He also has had some 
kind of knee surgery -- and has a slight limp.   The owner did say he will 
keep the possums and raccoons away!!
     This guy suggested taking the dog to the SPCA here.  I told him that 
there are no NO Kill Shelters in this area and big dogs do not get adopted 
easily from the shelters.  One of our shelters even sells dogs for research.  
 I did not recommend that -- did suggest he put an add in the paper and ask a 
nominal fee.   I also suggested he screen the prospective adoptors carefully 
since there are a number of large dog guard dog  services that are always 
looking for dogs to use in drop off guard dog situations.
