Hi: The best product I've ever used is Terra-Cortril. It's otc and has terramycin and a potent amount of steroid. The steroid relieves pain, itching and swelling like magic, and if they don't feel the sore or wound, chances are they leave it alone. I've used it on myself and it stops pain and itching almost instantly. I've never had a sore on an animal this didn't take care of. Christine
