The poor dog's mouth had to be washed out many times a day.  The food had to
be soft which created at problem at the other end.  In addition to mouth
surgery, the poor guy also had an eyelid lift--basically the poor thing got
a face lift.  To top it all off, not 2 years later somebody poisoned the
dog.  The owner was politically active and somebody took offense to her
beliefs.
