Re: [pyrnet] Checking in.
I'm not getting any mail currently, just thought I would check in and see
if things are up and running.
Question: On the multiple male situation. My male Ranger was neutered
at 7th. mo. before any sexual behaviors showed up. This young rescue we
took in, and will be having neutered ( and I have a feeling could be
staying ) is still not exhibiting any male behaviors. Careful monitoring
of meetings between my existing gang, male and females and this young
fellow all are going well. Once he is neutered ( and the time lapse ),
should I expect any real serious problems between the dogs? My concern
is only that my four are litter mates and have always been a pack. They
accepted and loved Shadow, female spayed now, when she came in the
spring, but she is a female. With care ( I must admit I have never not
had animals adjust to each other, but I am there to monitor each stage of
their relationship ), will these males neutered young have any problems?
I ask because everyone tells me that Pyr. males can be especially bad.
The Mastiff males only fought if a female was in season. I need that
experienced Pyr. people feedback on this. I'm fast getting attached to
this guy, even as I try to find an owner somewhere.
Thanks for any feedback! Cindy
