Unfortunately, even a 3 1/2 year old male will mark in the house at times 
(for our guy its a terroritorial thing).  My suggestion is to keep him with 
you at all times, and if you can't be with him, crate him.  We do that with 
Baron, and have reduced the number of "accidents" we have had.  Baron has no 
problem with being in the crate, and will often go in it on his own accord.
