Re: [pyrnet] Barking

If it's that bad then think about debarking. I know a lot of people do not
agree but there is a limit to the barking and sometimes for some unknown
reason some Pyrs will bark far more than others and I don't think anyone
could answer why? You may also want to try a squirt bottle of water or a
little can of water right in the face. Only worth doing these things when
the barking will not stop and there is no reason. If you do think about
debarking then ensure you go to a Vet who has done this procedure before and
knows what he is doing. I have to say that having rehomed many Pyrs over
the years because of complaints of their barking I would far rather now
advise (if barking is the only problem) that owners seriously consider
debarking as an option to keeping their Pyrs. If they do not want to keep
the Pyr well then that's another story and another set of reasons.

No Pyr would ever leave here if I got a complaint about barking, rather I
would have the Pyr debarked and keep my dog. Yes my squirt bottle is full
and my little tin of water handy!!
