The dwarfism project as a whole had its inception in 1998 when Mary Beth
Vaudrin contacted Mark Neff to help us with this. So, the project is barely
2.5 years in progress. Marker projects can take *years* to complete. They
are quite often not simple science. And sometimes they result in nothing.
Just because a marker project commences is *no* guarantee that it will be
successful. The collection of samples is ongoing but the committee also
needs people willing to participate. The actual attempt at marker
identification will not begin until Mark has 15 different families (I think
that's the number). Anyone who is interested or wants to participate should
contact Tami Green (greenpyrs@aol.com). You do not have to be a GPCA member
to participate...

Hope that this helps. :-)
