Re: [pyrnet] Consider breeding carriers (a proposal)

According to the magazines Cats and Cat Fancy, this has occurred in the cat
world. People are purposefully breeding "curly ques", cats with grossly
deformed legs and trying to get it recognized as a breed. This is very
misguided in my opinion.

P.D. James wrote a novel about the human race after the apocalypse. Because
many people were damaged by radiation or something, the government regulated
which people could breed. Eventually, fertility continued to fall and for
several years, no children were born un the whole world. The point of her
book is that no one knows everything, I suppose. In the last chapter, a
couple of people forbidden to breed because their gene pool is not perfect,
produce a baby and the human race is saved. A sappy story, but I suppose
people have worried about genes and deformities for years. Nature with its
survival mechanisms usually comes through.
