Julie,  I don't understand, were you told to wait to spay her till after
her first heat?  Or were you waiting for something else?  It is my
understanding that whenever possible you should spay and neuter before
sexual maturity even begins.  Much higher rate of protection from
malignant type cancers, and reproductive diseases.  Sometimes we don't
have that choice, so we do them as soon as possible.  If this was what
you were referring to?
