Re: [pyrnet] Are Pyr's really right for surburbia?

Well, pyrs are not the only breed that are debarked a lot. One of
the breeds that are really considered to be good in obedience are
also cause they bark a lot. So, I really don't consider them all that
special in that category. You can make this argument for quite a
few other breeds. Sonny would bark all the time if he stayed
outside. He prefers to be with the newfs and me so he may be
somewhat unusual in that regard.....he's with his flock so to speak.
My neighbors dogs bark a lot when they're outside but then one of
them is a breed that barks a lot and sets the others off. Doesn't
bother me but then I have a pyr anyways but it does some other
neighbors. Dogs that are debarked really have no idea that they
are debarked.......all it does is quiet the tone of the
barking.......they still bark. There are not that many areas that are
country anymore with a lot of space between neighbors anymore.
Where I live used to be but it isn't anymore. I think it's called the
price of progress. Farms and ranches almost sitting on top of
growing cities. So, where should we move those pyrs if they bark
a lot, huh. Debarking is really a small price to pay to live in
harmony with your neighbors.
