[pyrnet] Chat: Wolf/Pyr meeting



Thanks for your responses to my questions about the intentions of my neighbor's wolf towards our Pyrs.  Tracy - thanks for the possible scenario; it sounds right to me and I won't worry much more about the wolf's motivation towards my two - luckily it seems to be pretty well fed!  Cinde - both our Pyrs are neutered, but I doubt if the wolf is - his owner is a very macho loner type, not a bad sort, but just a kid (late twenties maybe).  He takes the wolf to work with him every day - his family has a small manufacturing business making electric candles.  But whenever he is home the wolf is on a chain behind the house.  We neighbors all admire it and feel sorry for it too, and so far have been tolerant of its occasional wanderings.  I asked Jason once if it was a full wolf or a wolf-dog hybrid, and he just said "yes."  It looks completely wolf, BIG wolf - must weigh as much as my Pyr Travisn (who is 120 pounds) with a medium long black and yellowish coat.  It has a beautiful howl.  The first time I walked our Pyrs past Jason after he moved in, he took one look at them and said 'where can I get a dog like that?'  I just hope he never finds out where ...
