Joe, the rationale behind the above is to avoid a lawsuit. And, at this point, we don't know who the breeder is, and whether or not they were really contacted at all.

I have a question here. If the breeder is contacted and is a GPCA member and is in violation of the rules by not taking this dog back will their name and the kennel name then be made public? If would seem a good idea so no one else buys a dog from an obviously unethical breeder. Even if they are not GPCA their name should be made public. Rescue is hard enough and full up enough without having to deal with dogs that their known breeders have abandoned.
