Re: [pyrnet] Halti or Gentle Leader?

My understanding is that the Gentle Leader has been around for the longest
and the Halti is sort of a knock off. I have a good friend who has been a
dog trainer & behavior specialist for 30 years. She has used the Gentle
Leader for years and swears by them. She recommends the Gentle Leader over
the Halti. The Gentle Leader has had several different names along the way,
I think one of them was the "Promise System" or something like that.

The Gentle Leader give amazing control, even small children can control BIG
dogs! But just like all training tools must be used correctly and should
not be left on the dog unattended. Have you checked out the Gentle Leader
website? The address is http://www.gentleleader.com

I personally don't do metal slip collars or prong collars. For training I
use a wide buckle collar or a Gentle Leader, for traveling I use a rolled
leather collar. I had a dog with a cervical injury so I had to be very
careful - the Gentle Leader was indeed gentle on him :-)

Hope this helps,
