Re: [pyrnet] Jumping and Play

Claire, May I first suggest getting the book " Dogs Never Lie About
Love". Everyone is probably sick of me saying this, but at the same
time, everyone seems to think that dogs spend every waking moment trying
to dominate their owner. They really don't, and every move they make
shouldn't be thought of that way!

Your girl is playing, and encouraging you to play with her.
Intelligent life loves to play, and it is good for all of us, and that
includes our canine kids. What you describe is typical of play, and the
kind where she is tempting you to join in. I play this game often with
my own fur kids. They don't mean to hurt you, but they can since they
play rougher with each other, so you may want to control how rough the
game gets. Kinda like Moms playing touch football if they don't really
want to be tackled. Tell her to go easy, or stop the game if she gets
rough, a few times. She will learn what is too rough with her bare
skins. But by all means, play with her as you would anyone. She will
love you more for it, and there is no ulterior motive than having a good
time. And get the book! :-) Cindy
