i've never had any of my males neutered before 1 1/2 and they all did great.
they, too filled out to a more "normal" physique, for lack of a better word.
they became more proportioned - even my 3 year old who was supposed to be at
his full growth (according to books i've read).  now he doesn't look like a
dork b/c half his body is bigger than the rest! lol!
