RE: Re: [pyrnet] Loss of Pigmentation (was Faults?)
P.S. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to apply to a dry nose, so
that it doesn't crack this season. He will now drink water on command, but I
can never keep it wet enough.

Merri,
A while back, Mandy's nose seemed rather dry and was not that shiny black
that it had always been. I don't remember who recommended it, but I was
advised to put a little vaseline on it. I only had to do it a few times
before I saw improvement, which was a good thing because after a few
applications, Mandy came to her own decision that she did not want me
putting that stuff on her nose.
I don't know if keeping the nose wet helps at all and it might actually work
against you. I know in humans if you have dry lips, wetting them seems to
make it worse. Not sure if this applies to dogs or not. Maybe someone else
has some knowledge of this.
