RE: [pyrnet] CHAT: road rage incident
Did anyone see the clip on the news last night where the man was finally
sentenced for the road rage incident involving a dog?
He was furious at the dog's owner, reached into her car, grabbed her dog and
tossed it into oncoming traffic. Of course, the dog was killed, the woman
devastated, and he finally got sentenced (3 years). The owner felt that 3
years was too little, and hoped the incident would raise awareness about the
need for more legislation against animal cruelty.
I found this deeply disturbing. The same news cast showed a report about a
box of puppies left in a dumpster in 110 degree temperature (I didn't see
where this happened). They were rescued by some construction workers, they
are OK, but what a terrible thing! And they were adorable, tiny puppies,
how can anyone look at a creature like that and do such a thing?
Sorry I'm going on, I'm really upset and want to do something constructive
about it. I'm not sure where to start....
I did send an email a few weeks ago to my local Pyr rescue, to find out how
I could help there, but never heard back. Maybe I should try her again.
Does the GPCA get involved in monitoring, pushing for animal cruelty
legislation?
Karen, D and Keets, who both gots lots of hugs last night after the news
