Cindy, my understanding is that the Houston Flash Flood hit in
the wee hours of the morning. Most had no time to react at all.
Pam Batley, who did Pyr Rescue in the area for many, many years,
is a nurse and was working the night shift. She lost most of her
goat herd and the Pyr that guarded them because the dog would not
leave the herd. Her husband and Son barely escaped with their
lives. Looks as if the house may be a total loss as well. So,
even having a plan, sometimes it is just not enough.
