Re: [pyrnet] Close call
We have our dogs both microchipped and tattooed (in
case they are found by someone without a scanner). All have been
done without any anesthesia and we have never had a Pyr even flinch. We
have had many done at clinics run by our local animal shelters, kennel
clubs, or obedience clubs. Even our Pyr club has had microchipping
clinics. Ours are tattoed inside the thigh, don't know if ear tattoos
are more painful.
Thanks, Barb, for the info on the breakaway collars....I'm
going to forward the info to all our puppy people.

I
keep Bobo double collared (call me a freak about safety!).
My vet won't
chip him unless he is under anesthesia and there has been no
reason (and
hopefully won't be) since I rescued him 14 mos. ago.
My reasoning
with the double collar is, one is a leather buckle, and the
other is a
rolled leather. Both have tags with my address and phone number
and the words
"needs medication" on the back. I was told that your more
likely to
get your beautiful dog back if someone thinks that it needs meds.
Glad you girl
is home where she belongs.
Rest well
tonight!
