I keep Bobo double collared (call me a freak about safety!).
My vet won't chip him unless he is under anesthesia and there has been no 
reason (and hopefully won't be) since I rescued him 14 mos. ago.
My reasoning with the double collar is, one is a leather buckle, and the 
other is a rolled leather.  Both have tags with my address and phone number 
and the words "needs medication" on the back.  I was told that your more 
likely to get your beautiful dog back if someone thinks that it needs meds.
Glad you girl is home where she belongs.
