  Kirsten, welcome to the list.  I haven't been here long myself, but
long enough to know you will find a superb group of people (after all,
they  have tolerated me thus far, and I have my hopes up).

   About the Pyr that didn't.t work out ... I think it best to get
them young and they grow into your expectations for them.
I'd say the un-Pyr-like-Pyr was trained to do just as you say ...
neglect his work.

  Hope you have wonderful luck with Noah  My Mary is a livestock
guardian dog,  She rules. The goats at first were shy about her
presence.  Now they run to Mary when they
fear they are in danger. I live in a remote area on six acres, and so
others have property nearby.  Mary has learned where our property
lines are.  I don't have fence, and she keeps the goats on their side
of the property lines.
