What you guy's do in rescue is incredible, I don't know how you do it! The
emotional roller coaster ride that you are on all the time. You need to be
commended for putting yourselves through that time and time again!
I don't know how you do it! If I ever got into rescue, I'd end up with 30
dogs around here, cause I could never let them go. I was the kid who was
always bringing home strays, my poor mom could never say no. After they were
vet checked and healthy we'd have to find them a nice home, (We only had
three acres). I cried for weeks over each and every one. But at one time we
always had at least 3 dogs, and 2 cats.
Now with a farm, there would be no excuse to give them up, so I'd have a Pyr
plantation. LOL!
So my hat's off to all of you who rescue, love and with a broken heart say
goodbye. You are stronger willed then me!

I have fostered as well. And it is very hard to let them go. But you know it
is the right thing to do. And I do get updates periodically from the new
families. The first pyr I fell in love with was a sweet little girl named
Shelby. We fell in love with her as we transported her from Savannah, GA to
Jacksonville, FL. And we wanted very badly to adopt her. However she was
very heavily heartworm positive. And although she made it through the
treatment. She succumbed to complications from the treatment. It broke my
heart! And I still grieve for my Shelby. However if we had adopted her we
might never have adopted our boy Beau. And we would have missed all the joy
we have had being his family. Rescue is never easy and is often
heartbreaking. But we do it because we love the animals and if we don't help
them then who will?
