[pyrnet] Chat: What is considered back yard breeding?
Questions:
What is considered back yard breeding?
1. A kennel that isn't registered by the AKC, and then litters are sold.
2. A kennel that isn't registered or a member with the breeds specific organization, and then litters are sold.
3. Litters sold as pets from individuals other than Championship holders in that breed.
4. Litters born on a ranch or farm, and then sold to individuals.
5. Litters born on a ranch or farm, and then sold to pet stores.
6. Or is it just the conditions of the matter? Poor conditions, cage on top of cage on top of cage, and then saturation of the market with that particular breed that has been breed of poor health, or is that puppy milling.
7. Or is milling and back yard breeding the same because they are not registered with any organization and then are sold.
8. Or does it come down to responsibility? Where the owner sells for profit without regard to the breeds health, and that is why some states have instated Puppy Lemon Laws.
9. Or is it all of the above?
Just wanted to clarify the term, or verbiage. There was a discussion between my daughter and some friends, and then I got into it, and came out of the discussion wondering myself.
